Welcome to the Sonoma State University Economics Club website. Our mission is to reduce economic illiteracy, to urge students to become more aware of current and future worldly concerns, to provide an atmosphere that encourages the study of economics especially with topics not commonly dealt within a formal classroom setting and to spur growth of the Sonoma State University Economics Department.
Are you an Economics Major or Minor? Undeclared but considering Economics? Look no further! Join the Sonoma State Economics Club and see what we're all about! Sign up here. Check back often as we will be adding events in perpetuity.
Ideas We are always looking for event ideas, speakers, etc. Please send any suggestions to admin@ssueconclub.com

Alright folks. Its that time again. The Economics Association is headed to the Fed! The FED trip is one our biggest events so you are not going to want to miss this. Were going to pile into the vans and head down to the San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank.
The tour is on Tuesday April 16th. The plan is to meet on campus(at the flagpoles near the main entrance). We will be leaving at 9:45AM and heading down to Larkspur. From there we will catch the ferry into the city. The tour is at 1:30PM and runs for about an hour and a half. Afterwords we will be going out to get some food and drinks.
The tour and transportation to the ferry is free but bring at least $20 for the ferry. You may also want to bring a few extra bucks for food and drinks as well.

Advisor Representative, from Wasson Investment Services present on stock
Investing and recommendations on how to get entry level jobs. This is a
great time to get your questions answered by someone who has over 30
years experience in the world of Finance and Investment. He specifically
mentioned that he will allow for plenty of time for Q&A, so this is
a meeting you don't want to miss.
See you there,

The SSU Faculty has stated that these companies are looking to hire students with strong financial analysis and data collection/ analysis skills: Wells Fargo, Southern Wine and Spirits, Constellation Brands, Provident Funding, and State Board of Equalization They encourage our Econ students to visit these companies at the EXPO. While there may not be a specific position open today, one could open up in the next month or two. Students need to be encouraged to network, gather information, and keep in touch with companies that interest them. |

A local company is looking for an early career financial analyst just out of an MBA or Bachelor's degree. They need someone "wide-eyed" and eager to learn. For them, the most important piece is software skills(maybe someone with a statistics, math or actuarial background or project work in school). This is a GREAT company - tremendous opportunity! Contact Sarah Dove at sarah.dove@sonoma.edu for more information. |
